What TrustCheck reads

When you click "Check this store" on a storefront page, the extension reads the currently visible content of that page in your browser (links, text, scripts, and elements used to detect policies, contact info, reviews, and trust badges). This happens locally, using Chrome's activeTab permission, only when you actively trigger it.

What leaves your device

Nothing about the store page itself is sent to any server. The only network request the extension makes is to verify a one-time purchase, and it sends only the email address you type into the "Already purchased?" field. That request goes to our verification service, which checks it against our payment provider (Polar) and returns a simple active/inactive response — no page content is included in that request.

What we store

The extension stores a lifetime free-check count and, if you verify a purchase, your email and unlocked status locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local / chrome.storage.sync). We do not operate a server-side database of users or usage.

Payment data

The one-time $1 unlock is handled entirely by our payment provider, Polar. We never see or store your card details.
