What it isn't
TrustCheck is a lightweight, page-level helper — not a scam detector, not a guarantee a store is legitimate or safe, and not a background monitor. It reads the page you're currently viewing only; it can't verify a business actually exists, confirm products will ship, or know whether a linked policy is honored in practice. Missing signals are yellow flags, not proof — and plenty of small, legitimate stores are missing one or two of these too. Always use independent judgment, especially for unfamiliar stores and unusually large purchases.

Can TrustCheck tell me for certain if a store is a scam?
No. TrustCheck is a heuristic check of the page you're currently viewing — missing policies, no contact info, no reviews, etc. are yellow flags, not proof. Always use independent judgment, especially for unfamiliar stores.
Does TrustCheck work on any online store, not just Shopify?
Yes — the core checks (HTTPS, policy links, contact info, reviews, social links, trust badges) work on any storefront, regardless of platform. A couple of informational checks are Shopify-aware but don't affect the score.
Does it slow down the page or send my browsing data anywhere?
No. All checks run locally in your browser only when you click the button. The only network request is to verify a purchase, and it only sends the email you type in for that.
